A New Chapter for the John Wylie Studio Portfolio

At John Wylie Studio, every pattern begins as a story — a gesture of devotion, a fragment of mythology, a moment of beauty shaped in marble and memory. Over the past months, our design language has grown deeper, more sculptural, more rooted in the emotional richness of classical art. It was time for our Portfolio page to evolve with it.

The updated page, now called The Archive, is no longer a simple catalog of designs. It is a curated archive — a living museum of the figures, motifs, and mythologies that define our work. The reorganization places our most iconic collection, Hadrian & Antinous, at the forefront, where its narrative of devotion and classical intimacy sets the tone for everything that follows. Surrounding it are two new thematic galleries of complementary designs: Romantic Florals and Romantic Ornament. Each section offers a clearer sense of the world our patterns inhabit and the stories they tell. The Romantic Florals and Romantic Ornament patterns act as the architectural and atmospheric layers around the figurative work. They create the emotional setting, the interior mood, and the classical ornamentation that allows Hadrian & Antinous to feel at home. They are not separate categories — they are supporting mythologies.

We also refined the language throughout the page, embracing a voice that feels more aligned with our artistic intent: romantic, atmospheric, sculptural, and timeless. The introduction now welcomes visitors into an archive of mythology rather than a portfolio of designs, reflecting the emotional and historical depth behind each pattern.
These changes mark an important step in shaping the studio’s identity. They bring the Portfolio page into harmony with the interiors we imagine — rooms filled with soft masculinity, cloud-light, acanthus leaves, marble, and the quiet radiance of classical ornament. Rooms that feel like sanctuaries of intimacy and beauty.
The Archive will continue to grow, but its purpose remains the same: to honor the stories that inspire us, and to offer designs that transform spaces into places of meaning.
